Great for eclipse parties!

1 cup butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
½ tsp. orange extract
½ tsp. vanilla
2 1/3 cups flour
1 tsp. baking powder
¼ tsp. salt
12 oz. semisweet chocolate 
1 Tbs. shortening
½ tsp. orange extract

Cream together first five ingredients; mix well.  Combine dry ingredients, add to creamed mixture and mix.  Roll into balls and place on greased cookie sheet.  Flatten slightly, and bake at 375 for 5-10 minutes, until done, but not brown.  Melt chocolate and shortening slowly in microwave, stir in orange extract.  Dip half of cookie into chocolate; place on wax paper to set.
