Sausage Bean Soup

¾ lb. bulk Italian sausage
1 garlic clove, minced
1 can (15 oz.) black beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (15.5 oz.) red beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14.5 oz.) diced tomatoes, undrained
Parmesan cheese
½ cup chopped onion
1 can (15.5 oz.) white beans, rinsed and drained
1 can (14.5 oz.) beef broth
1 Tbs. minced fresh basil or 1 tsp. dried basil

In large saucepan, cook sausage, onion, and garlic until the sausage is brown; drain.  Add beans, broth, tomatoes, and basil.  Cover and simmer for 10 minutes.  Sprinkle each serving with grated Parmesan cheese, if desired.
