1 Tbs. yeast, dissolved in
½ cup water
1 ¾ cup milk
2/3 cup margarine
½ cup sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 eggs
6 cups flour
Pie filling—one can per pan
Topping: 1 cup sugar
4 Tbs. flour
½ cup margarine
2 cups milk
Heat milk and margarine in microwave until melted; stir in sugar and salt. Let cool slightly. Add eggs and dissolved yeast; mix well. Stir in flour. Cover and refrigerate overnight. The next morning, spray two 15 x 10 inch pans. Divide dough in half; spread as if for pizza in each pan. Spread pie filling (one can for each pan) —cherry, blueberry, and lemon are all very good—over the dough. Bake at 375 for 25 minutes.
About half-way through the cooking time begin making the topping. Stir flour and sugar together in a medium sauce pan. Add margarine and milk, and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly, until thickened. You could probably do this in the microwave too. Pour over warm kuchen.
