Pumpkin Pancakes

2 cups flour
2 Tbs. packed brown sugar
1 Tbs. baking powder
1 ¼ tsp. pumpkin pie spice
1 tsp salt
2 cups milk
¾  cup canned pumpkin
1 large egg
2 Tbs. vegetable oil

Combine the flour, brown sugar, baking powder, pumpkin pie spice, and salt in a large bowl.  Next, combine the milk, pumpkin, egg, and oil, mixing well.  Stir into dry ingredients just until moistened.  Stir in ¾ cup mini-chocolate chips, if desired.  Cook on hot griddle until golden.
