Fresh Berry Coffee Cake

2/3 cup margarine, softened
1 ½ cups sugar (1 ¼ cups for blueberries
2 eggs
2 tsp. baking powder
1 ½ tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. vanilla
2 cups flour
1 tsp. salt
¾ cup milk
2 cups fresh huckleberries or blueberries (or frozen berries, partially defrosted)

Beat together the margarine and 1 ¼ cups of sugar (1 cup for blueberries) until creamy. Beat in the eggs, one at a time. Stir together the flour, baking powder, salt, and 1 tsp. of cinnamon; mix alternately with the milk into butter mixture until batter is smooth. Stir in the vanilla and the berries. Pour into a greased and flour-dusted 9×13 pan. Mix the remaining ¼ cup sugar with ½ tsp. cinnamon and sprinkle over batter. Bake at 350 for 40 mins or until pick comes out clean.
